Just like your air-conditioning air filter or your car oil filter, pool filters need to be cleaned and/or changed.

There are two main types of pool filters, cartridge and sand. Each type has different requirements for their frequency and procedure for cleaning and/or replacement.

With a clean and maintained pool filter you will:

• Get healthier pool water - dirt and gunk will no longer be in your swimming pool's circulation system. You will be at less risk of algae outbreaks.

• Prolong your pool filter's life - less stress on the walls and seals means less repairs.

• Prolong the life of your filter pump motor - less resistance from the filter means it can do its job of moving the pool water.
